21C Museum Hotel Bentonville Wedding - Liz & Keven

Art, Culture, and a Time to Party

This wedding was featured in Arkansas Bride Magazine. Here’s the link for more details.

When Liz reached out to us to photograph their wedding we were ecstatic! Being photographers in Northwest Arkansas, our motto is to capture each couple in a way that reflects them for who they are. So what made their day so unique?

It all begins with an amazing couple: Elizabeth (Liz) and Keven Capacho. We’ve known Liz for a couple years, and we were so happy when we found out she was getting engaged. Yes, we found out before she did! Keven called us to let us know that he wanted us there to photograph the surprise proposal at Lake Atalanta in Rogers, AR. Surrounded by all family and friends for that moment, we knew their wedding would be one that was very family oriented.

Liz told us that the wedding was going to take place at the 21C Museum Hotel in Bentonville, AR, and we immediately began to yell with excitement. How can you not be excited about an art inspired wedding? With it’s gorgeous floating paper installation as the backdrop for the ceremony, we knew it was going to be stunning. Not only was the location art inspired, but even the florals provided by Samantha’s Garden had a sculptural aesthetic to them. Each looking like an individual art piece, including her bouquet. Any photographer in Arkansas would be amazed at the sight, as we were.

Did we mention that their wedding was also going to be a blending of multiple cultures. Liz is Korean & Puerto Rican, and Keven is Mexican. How did they incorporate their cultures? One, Liz had three different wedding dresses: a traditional American ceremony dress, a reception party dress, and a traditional Korean dress (Hanbok) that her family brought all the way from Korea! The cutest thing was seeing her grandmother look so proud as she had a matching hanbok. It was truly amazing to see a joining of such vibrant cultures!

Now onto the party! We danced the night away with a dj from Brock Entertainment. He was one of the best djs we’ve ever worked with!!! He had us all on the dance floor and played music from so many different cultures that we all felt included. Even grandma was out on the dance floor gettin down! After the party, everyone lined up in the courtyard of the museum and lit up some sparklers as Liz and Keven ran away into the distance. Just kidding! They went right back in and kept partying with everyone else.

The details and the artwork that were so carefully inculcated into this wedding, the importance of family and traditions, and yes the joy of all being together to celebrate this momentous occasion made us thankful to be Arkansas Wedding Photographers.
