When Christina and Justin thought about which locations to pick for their wedding, there was only one option: Crystal Bridges Museum. The architecture, the art, and being surrounded by nature really makes it one the best places in Arkansas to get married. Here’s what they did to make it a unique experience for their guests, and how they personalized their wedding.
Christina and Justin wanted it to feel like an elevated, elegant, but fun party for their guests. They hired Kimmy, from JLK Weddings, to design and create the perfect event that felt like them. With classic colors like black, white, and green throughout the design and inspo, it helped to feel like a luxurious experience. Lots of black ribbon bows and details were used throughout the day as well. Darling Blooms created beautiful floral art pieces that tied everything together nicely as well, as well as Alchemy Event Rentals providing additional items for a personalized experience. I’ll put a list of vendors towards the bottom, just in case you’re looking for amazing vendors!
As an Arkansas wedding photographer, I always love seeing what happens at each wedding that make it unique. This one had many! Christina’s mom was such a huge support throughout the day! She made sure Christina had everything that she needed and more to have the best day ever! We did a first look with bridesmaids, and then followed up with a first look with dad. That was a real heart warming moment, and it’s always one of my favorites. Right after everyone was crying, we ran downstairs so that she could have her first look with Justin. MORE CRYING!!! They read their vows to each other privately and then everyone got ready for ceremony inside the Great Hall.
After the ceremony, guests were lead to the main entrance where they were handed a drink of choice, while they mingled. Or they had the option to enter the main art gallery for a private viewing of their permanent collection. After the ceremony location was flipped for reception, it truly transformed into a whole different space. Christina and Justin got to view it before their guests and were so ecstatic with how it turned out.
Some other heartwarming moments during the reception were when Christina’s dad gave the only toast of the night, and he did a phenomenal job. Also after their first dances, Christina surprised her mom with a dance as well. They danced to “Blackbird”, in memory of her brother’s favorite song. It was performed by his roommate. There wasn’t a dry eye left in the room after that. To try and get the party started, they asked for one large group photo with everyone, and then immediately opened the dance floor. Eventually there was cake, and champagne tower, and an exit where everyone carried gold streamers. Truly the perfect day!
